About

My name is Zack Goodman, and IronProfessor.com is my blog. The name comes from the two goals that drive the way I spend most of my time: finishing an Ironman-length triathlon and becoming a professor of economics.

I’m currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Economics and member of the Triathlon Team at UC San Diego. Before moving to California, I graduated from NC State University where I studied Economics and Mechanical Engineering. My research interests generally lie within Behavioral and Experimental as well as Labor Economics, and I’m currently working on a project related to sleep, habit formation, and behavior change adherence. UCSD is a member of the West Coast Collegiate Triathlon Conference, which hosts sprint and Olympic-distance triathlons September through April. In the off-season, I train for longer distance triathlons and am working towards completing my first Ironman-length triathlon in the next year.

I will write about a myriad of topics related to my research and training (and possibly some unrelated, too). If you have a particular topic you’d like me to cover, let me know in the comments.

Happy reading!
